Please help us welcome Eryn Pool, band director of Altus Junior High for the 25-26 school year.
Eryn Pool studied at Arkansas Tech University and the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education. Mrs. Pool is a woodwind specialist with saxophone being her primary instrument, and she has had extended study in clarinet and oboe. Mrs. Pool has served as the associate director at Muldrow Public Schools, where she oversaw all aspects of the junior high bands, conducted the high school concert band, and taught beginning woodwind classes. Mrs. Pool is an experienced colorguard instructor and led the guard in Muldrow’s back-to-back state marching band championships. Outside of her career, Mrs. Pool loves spending time with her husband, Adam, and their two children, Addison and John David. She also loves being a member of her church and playing in the church’s worship team. She enjoys disc golf, discovering new music, attending concerts, and reading a good book! Mrs. Pool can’t wait to discover what is in store for “That Altus Band”.

Altus Public Schools is excited to welcome Adam Pool as the Director of That Altus Band!
Adam Pool is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University, where he received his Bachelor of Music Education. Mr. Pool has previously served as Director of Bands at Cedarville, AR, Waldron, AR, and Muldrow, OK. While at Muldrow, Mr. Pool’s bands have received many honors and awards, including winning back-to-back Oklahoma Bandmasters Association State Marching Band Championships in 2023 and 2024. Mr. Pool was honored as Muldrow Public School’s Teacher of the Year in 2024 as well as Masonic Teacher of Today. In 2025, Mr. Pool was honored by the Oklahoma Alliance for Arts Education in conjunction with the Oklahoma Department of Education with an Oklahoma Education Award for Arts Excellence. Mr. Pool’s professional affiliations include Oklahoma’s Eastern District Band Directors Association, where he served as President, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In his free time, Mr. Pool enjoys spending time with his wife and fellow director Eryn and their two children, Addison and John David, being an active member of his church’s worship team, and playing disc golf whenever he gets the chance. Mr. Pool and his family are excited to join their new Bulldog family and continue the long history of excellence of “That Altus Band”.
